1. When I purchase a license for IM+, is it one-time fee?

Yes, it is one-time fee. All further updates are also free.

2. I have purchased IM+, but application tells me that it is in trial. What should I do?

All applications have trial period and become full commercial products after user registers them by inserting the license code in special field. So you needn't to download any file one more time. Just register IM+ with license you have received after purchase.

3. What are my charges to provider while using IM+?

IM+ has nothing to do with SMS service. IM+ is using your GPRS connection only and you have to pay for amount of information you are sending and receiving.

4. I want to upgrade my version of IM+ to the latest. How can I do it?

You can always find the newest products versions on both our WEB and WAP sites and download them without additional payment.
If you are going to upgrade to the newer version, please make sure you have exited the application correctly. Select ‘Disconnect and exit’ from the Menu before starting the upgrade.

5. I was never able to connect to the AIM/iChat, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo!, Jabber or Google Talk network. Am I doing something wrong?

Device Specific Questions

Java phones

1. What GPRS settings should I use?
2. I'm unable to use IM+ on Samsung device.
3. I'm using Nokia 6230. When it starts to download the file for IM+ installation over-the-air (from the WAP link) the error message appears like this "Invalid File".

1. What GPRS settings should I use?

IM+ for Java phones works with WAP GPRS or GPRS Web connections.
If you have any connectivity problems, we recommend you to go in IM+ to Services / Menu / Settings / Network and try to change connection type selecting TCP/IP or HTTP. Note: After changing connection type you need to restart IM+.

2. I'm unable to use IM+ on Samsung device.

Samsung phones allow to set Internet connetion in two places: for the whole device and specially for Java applications that use Internet connection under Applications\Java World\Settings. Without correct settings for Java applications you won't be able to connect with IM+.

3. I'm using Nokia 6230. When it starts to download the file for IM+ installation over-the-air (from the WAP link) the error message appears like this "Invalid File".

The matter is that jar and jad files are unable to be sent over the air to Nokia 6230. That's why we advise you to send them using PC Suite program. You may find PC Suite program on the site of telephone producer (www.nokia.com specially for Nokia 6230). Please note that you have to use IrDA or Bluetooth also.

Symbian UIQ and S60 phones

1. What GPRS settings should I use?
2. I receive the message "Certificate error. Contact the application supplier" when trying to install IM+ on my Symbian Series 60 v.3 phone. What should I do?

1. What GPRS settings should I use?

You should have TCP/IP connection to use IM+. IM+ will not be able to register or to connect to any of the services, if you don't have it. Normally your provider should have different Access Points for WAP and for TCP/IP connections. Ask your provider for Access Point settings for E-mail over POP3/SMTP or Opera Mini.

2. I receive the message "Certificate error. Contact the application supplier" when trying to install IM+ on my Symbian Series 60 v.3 phone. What should I do?

To continue installation, please perform the following procedures:

  • Go to your cell phone Menu;
  • Select Tools, then Application Manager;
  • When you are in Application Manager, click Options and select Settings;
  • Click on Software Installation and chose the option "All".

Nokia 9300/9500

1. I can't connect via WLAN.
2. I am using IM+ on a 9500. Even if I have a WLAN connection IM+ starts a GPRS connection. Is it possible to configure it to use the WLAN instead?

1. I can't connect via WLAN.

Most likely it is a problem with WLAN configuration. Your WLAN gateway may block some TCP/IP ports which should be opened for normal IM operation. Please contact your WLAN administrator to find out whether it allows you to work with such application as ICQ® (MSN, Yahoo, etc).

Please note that in some cases you may successfully browse WWW or send/receive mails via WLAN, being unable to use other Internet application , such as ICQ® - it all depends on WLAN gateway configuration.

2. I am using IM+ on a 9500. Even if I have a WLAN connection IM+ starts a GPRS connection. Is it possible to configure it to use the WLAN instead?

It is known that other 9500 users can use Internet via WLAN. Most likely the reason is in your phone settings. In Control Panel -> Connections -> Internet Setup it's possible to set up priorities of connections. In your case the highest priority is set for GPRS and then goes WLAN. You should set the highest priority for WLAN connection.
